Greetings
Depending on the series of Allen Bradley PLC you are looking at, there are some options and most are about the software they need to program them and of course the cost of the trainer and software, there are some that are free and others range from 150.00 to 4000.00 for the Professional Version all 'pay' for software will need to be purchased from your local Allen Bradley authorized distributor and can be found by using this link https://locator.rockwellautomation.com/SalesOffice ... note: we are NOT an authorized distributor so we can not sell the software we only sell lessons that we write and also sell the hardware for training.
This is a link to all our AB trainers https://www.plccable.
Micro800 This is their newest line of PLC's, I like them personally the software to program them is Control Connected Workbench or CCW and its is getting much better, when I first started using them the software was slow and had a lot to be desired, as of now they are on V13 this is their newest and its so much better and getting better features, I think someday this line will be replacing the MicroLogix line, a couple years ago they retired the MicroLogix 1000 but the 1100 and 1400 are also both great compact PLC's.
MicroLogix perfect line of compact PLC's RSLogix 500 is the software used to program them and has a free version that you can download on their website, this free version will program any of the MicroLogix 1000 (now retired) and also all the MicroLogix 1100's, if you want to program a 1400 to the SLC you will need to buy it and does range from 150.00 to 3,5000.00 for the professional version.
The part number for the mini version is 9324-RLM0100ENE this software is for programming all Micrologix and cost around $150.00 click on this link to download a PDF for more information on the software ((Click Here)) There are also other versions that they offer... RSLogix Pro, Starter and Developer (9324-RLM0800ENE) these can all be purchased from your local distributor and can program the SLC 500 series, we do not sell any SLC 500 trainer due to the cost and it uses the same software as the MicroLogix line so by learning one you learn how to program them all.
Studio5000 (aka RSLogix 5000) will cost anywhere from 800.00 for the CompactLogix version to over 4000.00 for the professional version used to program the ControlLogix series. We sell a few different CompactLogix trainers and Rockwell offers several versions of this software the most economical version is the Mini 9324-RLD200ENE ($915.00) or 9324-RLD250ENE ($2,270.00), the service edition will not work as it is to limited for programming and troubleshooting for more information on their software see this PDF https://literature.rockwellautomation.com/idc/groups/literature/documents/qr/9324-qr001_-en-p.pdf they also now offer a Subscription or Perpetual License that you will need to decide that works best for you.
